The final of Nine’s social experiment-dating show, Married At First Sight, won the night with 1.11 million capital city viewers and a total of 1.53 million watching the final hour as the couples revealed if they had split or remained together two months after the end of the experiment. 1.048 million in the metro markets and a total of 1.415 million nationally watched the shows first hour.
That bested Seven’s launch of reno show House Rules which drew 718,000 capital city viewers and a total of 1.23 million overall. – much stronger figures than Nine’s Reno Rumble which launched with 495,000 cap city viewers causing a programming crisis for Nine in March.
The launch of the ABC’s Comedy Showroom – a new format where pilots for six half hour comedies, premiered in 20th spot overall for the night with 486,000 capital city viewers for Ronnie Chieng’s International Student. All 6 pilots were released on ABC iView concurrently.
Nine won the night overall with a 29.3% network share and a 22.5% primary channel share.
