The storylines in the new season starts 18 months after the finish of season 5 ,which saw Nina and her beau Leo (Patrick Brammall, also returning) seemingly happily ensconced in domestic chaos.
With baby Zoe now two-and-a-half years old, the Proudman family is rocked by a heart-breaking event and Nina’s story and her unpredictable, messy and sometimes hilarious life continues.
Ten has also confirmed that key cast from previous seasons including Richard Davies, Lachy Hulme, Patrick Brammall, Linda Cropper, Deborah Mailman, Alicia Gardiner, Jane Harber, Eddie Perfect and Lawrence Leung are joining Asher Keddie and Kat Stewart for another round of Proudman family chaos.
“Everyone at Ten is excited to have our favourite dysfunctional family back on our screens, as Nina, the Proudmans and the gang at St. Francis return. We’ll be breaking out the chocolate and the tissues for a season of high romance, low comedy and plenty of sexy time. Natural order has been restored: Offspring is back,” Ten Head of Drama, Rick Maier, said.
Imogen Banks, producer for Endemol Shine added: “Here we go again! We love being back in our old, favourite Fitzroy haunts, making a brand new season of Offspring. It’s a bit like a fun school reunion.”
